I recently had a problem when flying with a well known budget Eastern European Airline where I was refused permission to fly at check-in because my ammunition case was deemed too small.

This despite there being no published guidelines on their website about firearms transportation in this respect.

I did end up with a lengthy correspondence with them which came to naught as they refused to either refund my monies or allow me to take the matter to the Ombudsman as they are not signatories to this dispute resolution process.

So, something to bear in mind if you are trying to travel light.

Might help to name them so others don't fall into the same trap.
