I am thinking very seriously now about ordering this rifle, but I can't find one to have a play with before hand.

I don't particularly like the stock on the Laminated Seven, but from the pictures the synthetic stock looks to be a little slimmer.

Does anyone have experience with the stainless synthetic or both rifels and can tell me how the rifle handles?

I have shot a Remington Model 7 in Stainless Steel a fair amount. Groups with 168 Federal Match and Federal 150gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips are usually under one inch. Targets shot at 300 yards range from 2 to 4 inches. These targets were shot from prone with a hasty sling and my pack as a rest.
I freefloated the barrel in the factory stock. The factory stock is injection molded plastic and is slim and trim.
It is nothing fancy but handles well. The black color is molded in. I also have one of these stocks on a blued M7 that my wife shoots. Both rifles are in 308. I have experience with several M 7's, all have been excellent shooters.

Hello Express.
The Mod.7 in SS and synth stock is a little dandy.
It was my roe rifle for some years in 243 Win.
But... I did find the light and short rifle ( 20 " bbl ) to be to flimsy and " unsteady" to shoot offhand.
The short barrel also made a very significant blast hunting low light conditions.

Its a darling to carry, but I traded it in for a ZKK 601 in 308 Win, wich is my " light rifle" now.
