Hi there
Due to a unforsen circumstances I will be travelling in Holland and the UK in February and was hoping to visit a couple of local hunting clubs whilst I was there. Any suggestions, email or web addresses would be greatly appreciated.

Nchebe,

Stalking (hunting is the practice of horse mounted people clad in red chasing foxes with hounds)is generaly an individual past time in the UK. As such there are no real hunting clubs. Occasionaly people will club together to lease some stalking rights but there 'club house' should it exist will be a derelict old porta cabin used for sleeping overnight. There will generaly be some empty trophies of the tin or glass variety in a heap in some part of it....

There is one hunting club - the St Herberts Club. To enter this you must be male, white, middle aged, bearded, fat and be able to talk for your country. No matter if you are a professional stalker, guide, PH you will be expected to progress through the various grades which range from 'not trusted with observing deer through binoculars unnacompanied' all the way through to 'Instructor who reserves all the best weekends and bucks for himself while being incredibly condescending'

All prosepective Herbert's applications must be seconded by a current senior Herbert. Qualities such as extended boot licking are actively sought.

If you are flying into LHR drop me a PM as I am only 45mins away.

Thanks for the advice. When I think about it I suppose it was what I expected. I have been visiting a UK chat forum and I have to be honest it is a bit of a joke. The forum is well set up and run but some of the idiots on it have either be kids fooling around or senile old men.
Well I am off to Europe on Friday for 5 weeks and it looks like I will have allot of time on my hands.
Cheers

Don't take a forum as an indication of how we stalk! We may not be big on clubs but we kill a lot of deer.

If you want to stalk drop me a PM
