1. Fallschirmjaeger

4. Allgemeinarzt

Exact translation of 2. and 3 is tricky, requires exact knowledge of military ranks and structures which I do not have.

A good online dictionary is here:

Thanks very much guys,

I had most of the words from a Deutsche/Anglais NATO manual from the 1970's, but certainly did not know the order, or the exact combinations!

Owyhee County - Homedale, Idaho

Where are you at in der Faderland?

I'm not german, but i think it's kampfungsgruppe or kampfgruppe (there is no such thing as kämpfungsgrüppe). I think the word is mainly used for land units (Kampfgruppe 1001 Nacht or SS-Kampfgruppe Nord, for example, it means something like Army group). And generalarzt, and kommandor (without the ö-letter) or kommandeuer.
Then again, I'm not entirely sure. correct me if I'm wrong.

I know that Erik "Bubbi" Hartman, the top ace of all time was in the 52nd fighter wing for his entire career. I'll see what the official name of that gruppe was/is.

Ah,

Jagdgescwader 52

Commander = Kommodore

Getting closer.

Eric Hartman used a different style of attack than many of his fellow pilots; one that I copied to my profit for many years. See-decide-engage-disengage. A full blown "dog fight" is a waste of time, and exposes your belly for far to long.
