Hi there and welcome

It is always nice to see another home grown hunter on the forum. Here you can ask a question and get 10 answers, all different but all valid, which means you have to ask more questions. It never ends - Thank God.

Welcome to AR. The site is great.

(Now is the time to consider your forum name, Vulpes-Vulpes do not have a good rep where I hunt)

How about Vulpes Vulpes Bang, Bang!

Thanks for the welcome guys,
First off my user name comes from my love of hunting that wily little fellow the red fox, I also stalk deer and shoot all types of small game and vermin but hunting the fox comes first.(when I say hunting I do mean shooting and not the red coat and horse stuff)
I shoot a .22LR .223 and a .243 but I am looking out for a .308 at the moment.I am a avid hand loader and am always interested in other peoples guns and loads.
Regards
VulpesVulpes

Hi VulpesVulpes or Renard,
which 223 are you using ? make/ barrel twist ?
im only asking because im thinking if getting a 223, and just can`t make my mind up ? but ive being looking at a savage tactical 1in8 twist, for fox and ground game, i to shoot a lot of foxes but with .243 using 87grn v max,
VulpesVulpes = 87grn v max = red mist

Hi chapster1,
The .223 I use is a Remington 700VS ,This gun is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned
My load is-
25.5grs N133
50gr V-max
rem 7 1/2 br primer.
With this load it will shoot 0.25@100yds
OK the gun is a little heavy for a carry around gun but if you get them in the cross hairs their dead.
regards
VulpesVulpes.

Hello;
If you like hunting fox, you would really love hunting coyotes and wouldn't have to beat off those blokes chasing them on horseback.

Hi Vulpes

I love to shoot and hunt the red fox too.

My guess is you would be pretty welcome around pheasant and other game bird drive areas.
