Can anyone point me towards a site that gives information on Italian Hunting & Shooting law, custom and practice with regard to Red Deer, Boar and Mouflon?

TIA

If you simply plan to go hunting one or all said game, then France is MUCH more attractive; have a look to the recent post started by wamuley.

No, I'm aware of that thread and the possibilities. This is something more specific that I need to get to grips with.

Oh, and it would be helpful if the information could be in English because my Italian doesn't extend beyond Bocca del loupo!

As a UK citizen, unless you can get an under-the-counter deal with an italian hunter, you will be limited to hunt in fenced estates. The only pertinent website that I know is in Italian; sorry...

http://www.federcaccia.org/

If you wish to ask some more specific questions, I'll try to reply.

P.S. In bocca al lupo!

Many thanks for all the suggestions, I've contacted wildboar initially and will see where that leads.

Must turn my mind now to one of Ian's Devon Reds which I think I can hear calling my 308 through the snow. Smiler

"More than 10% of the country's agricultural output ends up inside animals," he said, adding that while wild boar have recently made a nuisance of themselves on the outskirts of Genoa, "they can only be shot on two days in the week."

I like that quote.

I pay fees in Liguria Province (Genova is the administrative center) as in Emilia Romagna Province and My hunting areas areon the border between the two provinces.
The differences are mainly dued by the opening of the hunting season to the wild boar, in november, if I remember well in Liguria, at the third Sunday of September in Emilia Romagna, where it is possible to hunt three days a week. We have been asked to make some driven hunt in January and February also.
Having said all this things, I can say also that the season 2008-2009 ended for my squad at 127 or 128 bagged WB, 50 more than the 2007-2008 season, but two years ago the winter had not been so cold as we had in December and January.
About Genova a friend of mine who, joking, invited me to go there with the rifle because I could hunt at the crossroads.
Last August and also recently some driven hunt has done in areas internal to the administrative border of the city trying to reduce the number and the accident with residents.
