Sorry if this was covered somewhere and I missed it, but . . . .

Can somebody tell me exactly why all military calibers are banned for hunting in France? Is it all military calibers ever used by any country in the world since the invention of modern smokeless weapons?

I hate to speculate, and have heard a lot of what I'd call rumors, but for a lot of hunters from all over the world, if they heard this for the first time, they'd scratch their head and say whaaaa . . . ???

Yes, it is and no you may not, including 308, 7x57, 223, 6.5x55, 8x57, you get the idea.

The French are in this case guilty of being French!

We had in Italy something like that many years ago, the authorities were afraid that the people can use guns and ammo in military calibers using military deposit as supply...
