We have been using RWS ammo, rimfire, shotgun and rifle, for many years.

It is of very high quality, and would recommend it without any reservations.

I would recommend against using Hertingberger ammo though. In my own experience, they seem to load their ammo far too hot, and after having had so many different caliber loads blow primers - 223 Remington, 308 Match ammo and several hunting loads in 7mm Remington magum and 375 H&H magnum - I refuse to either use them, or allow anyone to shoot them in our range.

Just thought of mentioning this here so some of you might avoid any future problems.

Check out Heritage Arms. Aleko Jensen who posts here runs it in Salt Lake. He orders a couple cases a year for me.I think it is great ammo. It has restored my faith in the little calibers. I use it for culling in my 243 for pigs and sheep. The 30-06 should be excellent. I have shot over 200 animals between this year and last and have not had one bullet failure to date.

I'd like your opinion on the quality and performance of RWS centerfire ammuntion. Does anyone know of a source in the USA? I have a Steyr Mannlicher, Model M carbine, cal 30-06, manufactured in 1988. This rifle came boxed with a test target of three shots, fired at 100M, that measure .212"CC. The group was shot with RWS ammo. Try as I might, I have never been able to get this rifle below 1.00" CC. I am a handloader of some experience, about 44 years! I would really like to try some of the RWS ammo, but can not find a USA source. Stoney

Aleko,You are welcome. You have always done right by me so I like to pass that info on to others. When and where will you be in RSA? I am arriving Oct 1st in jburb. SA210 By the way, this years body count in Niihau was 130. Of course all were not shot with RWS ammo because of the timing of the order.
