As I type this it appears that a number of explosive devices have detonated on the underground and buses in London.

We all thought it was only a matter of time

Have gotten hold on friends and relatives in London and thankfully all are "well" -shaken but not hurt. Came home from London about 3 weeks ago and I have to admit that I'm glad to be elswhere right now.
My thoughts goes out to all those that are present in the chaos that must be and to those who no longer are. It is indeed a sad day!

My heart is with all the British people, and specially with all those in London.
I know how you all are feeling: my son and his wife live in London and are both there now.
Had a call from my son a few minutes back and everything is OK with them, thanks God.

Montero,

Thank you for your concern. I'm genuinely touched by your attemps to contact. Indeed all mobile networks have been disrupted and overloaded here this morning and I have been trying not to make calls so as not to add to the congestion.

Currently I am about 300m away from where the first blast went off but we are OK here. We have been confined to the office until further notice.

It is truly tragic that these events take place whatever the location. Lives are lives regardless and the indiscriminate killing of innocents is an action that no "cause" can ever justify. The disgust at such actions is something I'm sure we all feel inside.

What is amazing here is that everyone has buckled down to do what is needed and I have not heard of anyone complaining they can't go home, just the occasional expression of justifiable fear.

Regards,
FB

As said on JB's thread, Aussies stand with our British cousins.

Our prayers and thoughts are with those affected.

It's time to forget the "family squables" and stand shoulder to shoulder with our British cousins.

Hello;
I think the time for standing shoulder to shoulder is long past. We've been doing that since 9/11 and tragedies like this still happen. It's time to realize where the problems lie and deal with them effectively. My own sense says that when this matter is investigated, the terrorists will be linked to the militant Muslim faction in Britain that preaches its message of Hate, with impunity. My sympathies.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of London. You come from good stock and I have considerable faith in your strength...

"We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."
