A friend just gave me an unused ZKK in 6.5x55 Mauser. Does anyone here have a recommended load for these rifles? I just need a starting point. I realize I'll have to tweak the load to the rifle. I have H4350 and H4831 powder on hand and Hornady Interlock 140 grain bullets right now. | ||

What brass? Lapua and Norma are the norm and the rest, well they are just behind, most US-made brass is undersized and will have a lot less volume. Start with listed starting loads for the powders suggested. /Chris | |||

I am afraid your friend has given you a klunker.  That particular rifle will not hold up to the lightest 6.5 loads and therefore, in the interest of saving you a great deal of grief, you should immediately mail it to me so that I may properly look after it.   No politician who supports gun control should recieve armed protection paid for by those he is trying to disarm. Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-scotch in one hand-Chocolate in the other-body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WHOO-HOO, WHAT A RIDE!!"
