Is this a Heym Sr20?

Can it be rebarreled?

I can buy one for a reasonable price locally, so I am thinking it would be a good option for me as I want to shoot some positional stuff.

Not sure about the Mauser M83, but the Heym SR20 can be easily rebarreled - simple screw in barrel as in Muser 98, Rem 700, Tikka, Sako etc. The Mauser 3000 is pretty much the same action as the SR20 but has the a vertical safety on the bolt shroud, rather than a 3 posiiton as in the SR20. The SR20 is only a long action, but right and left handed. For short calibres - 243 etc, there is a spacer in the rear of the mag well with a shorter follower and spring. I have a 243 and thinking of re-barreling mine to something a bit bigger - I can fit 7x57 and 6.5x55 rounds in the mag and they do feed as well.
