Family Friendly Paris Hotel?

I will be coming to Scotland this September to go Red Deer Stalking. Because I will be leaving my wife and children alone and probably bored in a highland hotel for three days while I am on the hill; I asked them what they want to do for the rest of the trip. My kids want to go to France and see Paris and some of the country.

I am struggling with finding a place to stay that is family friendly. I find a lot of quaint hotels that would be a wonderful getaway for my wife and I but I would really like something that is more family oriented. Something that will sleep my wife, myself and my two young children (6 & 8) and be within easy reach of the typical Paris attractions. My budget is $300 a night if that is possible, but will pay more if need be.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Any information would be greatly appreciated

I know that this is not really "European Hunting" and if anyone is offended by my posting here I will delete the thread.

Thanks

Hotel Ibis, Paris. There may be more than one Hotel Ibis in Paris, but the one at which we stayed was PERFECT. Exceedingly friendly and helpful staff. GREAT "family" restaurant. Delicious lamb. If we return to Paris, we would stay nowhere else.

Sorry can't help with hotels in Paris, but your kids would love Disneyland in Paris and they do have hotels as well.

No man they're from America, they would be devastated at the small-scale tragedy that is Eurodisney... Big Grin

I just find it interesting that a 6 and 8 year old would say they want to see Paris. Big Grin

I can't vouch for it personally, but the location looks OK.

Thanks for all the responses so far.

Conifer, I found the hotel Ibis I think that you are referring too, but they don’t appear to have rooms that accommodate 4 people.

Caracal and Ghubert, My kids would probably love euro disney, but I have a hard time traveling half way across the globe to visit disney when I can drive a few hours south and visit it. I think that I can find some more unique things to see in Paris. Thanks to the suggestion though!

Norton, My kids are a little unique. Actually to tell you the truth I came home from work one day and both of my kids greeted me at the door and asked “can we go to Paris” I responded, “If I can go shoot Red Deer in Scotland” and this is how this trip started.

Wink, That hotel looks wonderful, they have connecting rooms for families, the location appears to be great. The downside is that it is ~600 euros a night. That is a little more than I wanted to pay. But I will keep it on the list.

If you book early you should be able to get a better rate. A double room in September is around 250 EUR. Use their online booking with your own dates. Here's an example:

http://www.secure-hotel-bookin...ce-be84-0cff6eb9e79c

Average room rates in the nicer hotels are generally around 200 EUR per night for a double or twin bed room, so around 100 EUR per night per person. It is possible to find acceptable room rates in the 150 EUR per night range, but rooms will generally be very small compared to what Americans are used to (and that will be true for all but the most expensive hotels) and locations won't be as good. In that price range there will be some who are happy with them and some who are not. Paris is most likely the most visited city in the world and there are probably over 5000 hotels in the city. From spring to fall many hotels are fully booked. I advise not waiting until the last minute to book.
