No Hijack, interesting, German rifle, Swedish cartridge - I'm impressed.

I have actually been into Blasers for several years, but thanks to a friend, I am now a reloader and have expanded my cartridge choices to include 6.5x55 and 9.3x62. I am anxious to try the 9.3x62 on one of our wild hogs. The last ones I killed were downed with my 308 Tracker barrel. I really like the versatility of the Blaser.

Jeff,

What the heck - we're on page two of "Tracking Dogs" the immediate Doggie interest appears to have waned somewhat.....

Nice Piggies, pal, especially photo #2, good size Porker.

Versitility is a good description but I'm simply addicted and have to admit I'm a Blaser Junkie, pure & simple.

An OfffRoad stock, 5 barrels, .222, .223, 243, .30/06 Sprg. (Attaché bbl.) and a Magna-Ported 375H&H. Both Left/Right Bolt Carriers and 6 Bolts (3 ea. L & R) for me & my son and 8 scopes in Blaser Saddle Mounts.

Then I added a Stutzen Luxus K95 Single Shot in 7x57R. I keep browsing the K95 extra barrels page of the Blaser catalog and then have to slap my hand for turning the pages. I feel a case of immediate need for a K95 .22 Hornet barrel coming on.....

We're in the middle of the Drive Hunt season for Wild Boar here in The Fatherland and I'm split between the Winchester Model 70 in 375H&H on Saturdays and the Mauser 9.3x62 on Fridays & Sundays. The 375 is in a class of its own but trust me when I tell you the popularity of the 9.3x62 is huge and the effectivenss of this cartridge for this type of hunting is simply superb. It makes a much lighter rifle than a 375, with less recoil and delivers a wallop that just has to be witnessed. One of my all-time favorite Big Game cartridges. I've used pretty much about most all of the commonly available bullet fare for this cartridge, Speers, Hornadys, RWS, Woodlieghs & Nosler (BT'S & Partitions) and in my opinion it just doesn't seem to make a Hill-of-Beans which one you select when potting animals running or trotting by at spitting distances; especially with 20" tubes on both rifles.

I have no experience with the 6.5 Swedish though.

I just returned from our Wednesday evening range session and of the 5, 3 of us were shooting R93's in prep for a Drive Hunt where we'll be seated all day in High Seats as the game is driven from several directions with 200+ meter shots possible due to the wide open terrain. Wild Boar, Red Stags, Hinds & Calves on the Menu. Mine a .30/06 Sprg., the other two selected their 300 Win. Mag. barrels.
