My old man wants to buy a new binocular.

Has in mind £200-£250. Mainly for horse racing and the like. He doesn't hunt.

I was looking at Pentax, Nikon Monarch and Minox, 8 or 10x42.

Does anybody have experience of these? Which would you recomend?

Thanks.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

I have a Nikon Monarch 8x42 and I like it very much; a good value IMO.

I think the best bins in that price range will be my BNIB never been used Pentax 10x43 DCF SP
if you go over to 24hourcampfire.com and look at the optics page you will read everything you will need to know.
I won mine in the states at a shooting comp and have to say that they are absolutely equel to my leica bins, if you are interested PM me and we can do a deal.

Brian,

Go to:

www.swfa.com

and click onto their "Sample List". Here they sell their discounted, discontinued and demo models at a fraction of their worth and pick up a set of Steiner 8x30's for a little over $100.00.

Perfect for the Race Track and evening neighborhood surveillance; if you get my drift......

Cheers,
