Just got a tikka m55 in 222 with a t8 sound mod second hand after taking of the mod and giving it a shake sounds like it has powder residue in it or something like that so just wonderd if you can dissmantle the mod to clean it

The T8 cannot be dissembled. I believe it was originally marketed as a disposable unit for the military, and build quality reflects that.

If you are concerned about the possibility of lose fouling - soaking the unit in a bath of petrol then swilling out may get rid of the problem. Ensure that the unit is completely dried out out before the next usage!!!

It is not unusual for this unit to rust from the inside out - the petrol bath should reveal if the debris is corrosion. Try and get into the habit of removing the moderator after use. Give a squirt of WD40 from both ends and store it off the rifle.

Do check the bore of the rifle - leaving the moderator on after shooting will allow condensation to form and can easily result in rust in a non stainless barrel.
