As most of you know I change guns like some people change pants. Anyway the current love affair aside from a Sauer 202, a couple of custom Mausers and a Blaser K95 exhist with the Steyr-Mannlicher SBS M96 rifles. I found this 450 NIB a few weeks ago and have spent my vacation ringing it in. Recoil isn't bad and she shoots less than inch groups with the 325 Grain Hornady LeverEvolution load. My goal is to shoot 350 Grain Swifts out of her later on. I thought this gun had sights when I bought it, and I was wrong, but it did come with the Steyr 1913 rail, which I do like since I am not going to put a rail mount scope on it via EAWs. I tried to order a extended magazine well and extended magazines but Steyr USA is currently out. So I will be using the 3 round guy until I they get stocked up. So here are some photos of the rifle and the result. The top 3 rounds are one group and the bottom three are a second after I adjusted the scope. I shot 14 rounds today and am not suffering any great pain. I can't wait to use it on moose, boars, and bears! Me preparing for the shot. The Thunderer in all her Austrian glory! | ||
