Yesterday a fried found a bag with old rifle cartridges.
Now I try to find some informations.

Its a rimmed cartridge in 8,3mm (.325)
Its stamped 1938, VIII and an imperial eagle
with swastika.

brass length 56 mm
Cartridge total lenth 77 mm

Do you have an idea?

It sounds like a 8x57 IRS, also called 7,92 Mauser.
But I´m far from sertain.
The measures though, seem to fit rather good to what is written i one of my reloading manuals.

Possibly a 8x56 Solothurn\Hungarian Mannlicher. Does it have a long and mild shoulder?
