BTW, what kind of armament should I consider? I know what a muflon is like, but will they probably be far away or should we prepare for close shots? Would also be interested in the legal requirements for muflon rifle.

we use to hunt normally form Hides ( highseats) shooting distance between 15 m and 160 m

All calibers from 6,5 mm or bigger are legal for roe is .222 and above. I use 30-06 and a combined means the shotgun barrel for foxes racoons enok doves crows marten ermine, wheazel. a good bino and a scope for dawn/night will be pretty helpfull.
