First remark: thank you Saeed, this could be a lively and animate forum.
Second remark: I begin to be curious about the possibility to manage a simple meeting or, more better, a hunting meeting. Nothing of particularly difficult or expensive, maybe a wild boar or a roe deer hunt, eventually in East countries like Hungary where roe deer could be also cheap, or Romania where boars are not too much expensive if made in driven hunt.
Or a, as I call this kind of hunting trip, mixed fry (hares, pheasants, roe or fawn cows and jarlings)
Any suggestion? Any feedback?

bye

Stefano and Olaf...
Sounds like a great idee. [Smile]
It should be very niced to come together for a hunt.
Traditonally hunting is costly in Europe, so if anyone try to scramble a "get-together" hunt, please have the expences in mind.

I lost my red and roe lease this year, due to re-organisacion of the hunting cooperative.
They zeroed all old contracts and set it all out again for the highest bidders.
I didnt have a snowballs chance to cope with those big wallets suddenly pouring in. [Mad]

So the only option this fall is moosehunting as a guest on a friends lease up north in Norway, and some patridge and ducks here on the west coast.

OlafD,
sorry, I am little in a hurry, and I did not paid too much attention. Which is the hunt, the hunting season? I have to spend 48 days' holiday or vacation with pay, as you prefer to call them, and I can decide also when spend them.
Suggest an interesting period, normally good for hunting, you should know it beeing be our local hunting expert [Big Grin] , and then we can wait the friends's feedbacks.

bye

Last week oct or first nov, I don't mind, both will be fine for me. I think I will be able to drive to your place from Paris. What's the necessary paperwork to do to import the rifle to Germany?

Hello Olaf,

I would be very happy to accept your hunting offer, if there's still room for one. I will send you a confirmation as soon as I'm sure I'll be able to make it, but there shouldn't really be any problems.

I tried to send you personal mail, but didn't succeed. Also the link you sent, didn't work at the moment. I hope you get my message this way!

Regards,

LD100

BTW, what kind of armament should I consider? I know what a muflon is like, but will they probably be far away or should we prepare for close shots? Would also be interested in the legal requirements for muflon rifle.

Hi LD100
we use to hunt normally form Hides ( highseats) shooting distance between 15 m and 160 m [Big Grin]

All calibers from 6,5 mm or bigger are legal for roe is .222 and above. I use 30-06 and a combined means the shotgun barrel for foxes racoons enok doves crows marten ermine, wheazel. a good bino and a scope for dawn/night will be pretty helpfull.
