The difficult bit is always getting the salmon - always done first - the grouse and the stag should be less of an issue.

Kuwinda,Thanks.Have ordered the book.The Field doesn't have a page for 2016 yet.It seems that many of the best chance lodges require booking the whole lodge for a week.Gets rather pricey then airfare to wherever.
Any McNab will do.Have a friend with an estate on Torridon.Have to check with him.

I did an African version in RSA about 6-7 years ago. Caught a rainbow(and a brown) trout first thing in the morning- then ate 1 of them for breakfast. Three hours later shot a nice mountain reedbuck. Then that afternoon bagged a brace of Guinea fowl. I had no idea what a McNabb was until I was told about it at dinner that night, over no a nice single malt.

It's doable but the most difficult bit is to get the salmon and hopefully get it before breakfast to give you the time needed to get on the hill and get a stag which can also take a while.

You really need to give yourself 4-5 days on a good river, and then make sure the estate has the infrastructure in place to make sure you can get the other stuff done. In these cases a good ghillie is invaluable in putting a fish on the bank, especially if you are inexperienced in fly fishing on the scottish rivers, or spey casting.

My advice is that the estates that are cheapest have the lowest densities of all game species, and as such to get all three in a day becomes exponentially less likely.

I'm trying to get a Mcnab week booked for a team in 2017 on one of the top estates in Deeside, and it sure is a logistical roller-coaster!!

You should definitely try this as it is a classic and also features on my bucket list!!
