Hi All,

I've managed a couple of days back in the office and then I'm off to hunt Chinese water deer with Anders for a few days tomorrow.

We Had a couple of days rough shooting and driven shooting. It's always good fun and now the leaves are coming off it feels like we are getting some proper shooting

We left St Albans and travelled straight to Pembrokeshire for three days woodcock shooting. It was a hard few days but the guys worked tirelessly to find a few birds for us. We managed to flush about 60-70 and put a few of those in the bag, but the mild weather meant that there was a lower number of birds on the ground than last year. With the December moon approaching we have already had reports of big numbers falling on the east coast so the January trips should be a real treat.

We were then back to London for more driven shooting at Morghew and Blackham where I'm pleased to say the birds were just stunning last week.

Apparently I get a bit excited when the drive is going well and dad had to tell me to stop whooping and hollering as the birds went over the guns!! The guys shot incredibly well on the last drive with Agent Pink folding them up nicely in succession.

Anyway the pics tell some of the story.

We had to stop him taking any more layers off!!

Rgds,
K

Nice picsSmiler
I have hunted a bit in England with a shotty and I really miss it.
Those pics bring back many nice memories from then.
I am more of a rough shooting man myself and I was lucky to have a sister that lived on a 400+ acres farm for a few years where I got permission to take a walk with my shotty whenever I wanted toSmiler

Thanks for sharingSmiler

I am sorry to see the euro crisis has forced you lads to go shooting instead of working.

Tough gig. Nice.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....

Brian,

It's a tough life but someone has to do it!!

I have to be honest, last week when I was stood at the edge of the wood watching the best pheasants of the season going over Bill and Mike I was busting to get the gun in my hands!! It was some consolation to see them being folded up with some excellent shooting but only a little bit!

Just so you know it looks at the moment that I might be shooting every day in January.... Wink

Anders arrives tomorrow and we are off to have a go at the CWD and Muntjac, followed by some fallow. I've booked WI-Fi in the travel lodge so I can post live pics and video clips.

Yep Ellie Dog has been out with me all the time. Dig was quite amazed that I have a spaniel that sits on a peg off of the lead without running in!!

I was also amazed but don't really want to jinx it!!

Dang! I keep wanting to get out but I don't have heaps of time right now. I also don't have the fancy clothes, I'd stick out like a sore thumb! shocker

It's nice to see others having fun though.
