I have posted a few pictures over in the Medium Bore forum of a Germania Waffenwerk K98 in 9.3x62 that I found some weeks ago, and I recently added pictures of the stamps. Perhaps it might interest some of you...? https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3221043/m/257106833 Regards, Martin ----------------------- A man can never have too much red wine, too many books, or too much ammunition. - R. My mother was purebred German. My grandmother on my Dad's side was purebred German. None of the people in those family's had long necks. In fact, they all had short necks. So I wonder why all of those fancy German Rifles have to have such high scope mounting!!!

JJ, I agree, there is just something about the German Mausers. This a NICE one and Martin should be proud. Gene Semper Fi WE BAND OF BUBBAS STC Hunting Club

JJ, The scopes are so high because of the "flag" security, which is making half a turn vertically... olivier

Very true! As Olivier said, it is because of the safety... I intend to put a two-position M70-style side safety on it, but will keep the original shroud and safety intact. As it is, the mount is so high that I will have no contact between stock and cheek. I will put it in a higher stock, but will keep the mounts if possible. I will use a Helia 3-10x50 and will need a rather high mount because of the high rib.
