I've seen a left hand Mauser model 2000 in 270 Win advertised for sale. This is not the classic mod. 98 but a more modern production rifle. I know nothing of this model. Any information would be appreciated - features, opinions, production dates - any info appreciated. Thanks,

Mauser 2000 series are guns made by the HEYM company from Germany. They are from good quality but a bit old fashioned by looks! You often see them in collector gun fairs and in the racks of second hand guns.Mostly in the calibers 270 or 7 x 64 brenneke. I think they were made in the 1970's up to the 80's. Thanks for the couple of quick replies. I found one picture here http://www.jagen-waffen.de/Waffen-Klotz/Mauser_2000.html Yes, not really my style, but left-hand rifles are not too common. Any idea how this model stacks up against the offerings from Rem, Winchester etc? I would imagine and hope it's in a class above in terms of quality. Solvi, thanks for the link. The new M03 looks interesting. I might be able to look at one this Saturday. Unfortunately there was nothing about the model 2000 on that site.
