Kiri,

I hope to ge the final word within a week or so. Next week is Thanksgiving week and a lot of whom I need to get answeres from are on holiday. If I don't get it together by mid-December, well...

I do not want to leave anyone on standby/wait list just hanging on.

The time has come for a firm commitment to this outing because I'm about to send you all an invoice for the deposit (or full payment if you prefer).

Any changes of difficulties, let me know via email. I'll also be processing gun permits this week, so anyone wishing to bring a new cannon needs to let me have the information ASAP - I already hold information for Caracal; Gerac; Gerry; Winkelmeister; Richard A; Dave T, so only need documents from Dom and Nevadan if he is coming.

Thanks,

Adam.

Dear Sir,

please put me on the list for next year ( 2015 ).

Don,

I'd have loved to have been there but sadly, I need to get the build finished.

Perhaps next time?

Kiri, Adam,

Ben has discovered 'love' and unfortunately will not be joining us on the weekend. Andy asked me to let you know asap so that his place could be offered to somebody else.

Looking forward to seeing friends old and new, next month.

Please take LOTS of pictures and post a detailed trip report. I'm seriously considering quitting my teaching job as it interferes with my hunting...and though I lived in England for a bit I never had time for any hunting.

Bloody hell, I forgot we have the new Irish contingent joining us this year. Tales of whiskey and wallaby's abound!!!

Looking forward to seeing everyone and having a giggle.

I have just booked a hare shoot on the 15th about half an hour away. If anyone wants to join then let us know.

Some transport will be available and cost is £120 per gun.

K

Is there a Bonus in Gerry's and Winkelmeister's score list if you get Muntjacs with a stick? Then I would consider the challange! Big Grin

All very quiet?
No follow up report?
Did someone misbehave with the kitchen lady are are you all still recovering from excessive alcohol consumption?

I bloody hope not as I was the kitchen lady this weekend!!

It was a fun weekend as always which was scuppered from a stalking perspective by the weather. three days of gale force winds made the deer very localised and very skittish, not to mention unwilling to get out in the open.

We were unsure of the poopulations on the first day until gerry and Winklemeister saw 30 deer between them on Saturday mng, showing that they had bunched up into the warm woods, that afforded some protection from the elements. Even then the old maestro only managed two as they were so skittish.

Good fun had by all and much talk of more hunting. It looks like a trip up to Scotland on the Roe bucks is in the offing during the rut if anyone fancies it?

I'm sure the others will pipe up shortly.

Enjoyed a good weekend, as they say, any time spent in the woods is a good day. But damn that wind was strong Wink

Got to meet some great folks and partake in some delicious food and spirits over the weekend, nothing wrong with that. Kitchen lady did a superb job!

Was able to add 3 Muntjac to the tally, the .243 did shall we say, a bang up job!

Our AR Weekend is always a good time - period.

We; Dom (Dominic), Nevadan (Don) Winkelmeister (Tommy) & myself had a really enjoyable trip, it's always alot of fun with guys who roll with the punches and take the road blocks (weather) in stride. Also a pleasure to hunt with Brian, Nigel, Dennis & Hendrik and the rest of the crew again.

With Kiri & Adam at the helm it was the ususal superbly orchestrated AR Weekend. Kiri did a fantastic job in the kitchen and the wine & beer supply was just about right for good banter.

Alan, the Head Gamekeeper, with Liam & Ricky; his assistants did their level best to put us on Deer but the weather was crap, and there's simply not much you can do to correct that, you just have to buckle down and take it as it comes. Despite gale force winds and a driving rain coming in sideways many Muntjac were sighted; but they were skittish and moving quickly in the forest due to the crap weather.

I'm not adverse to chatting up the kitchen staff but this particular kitchen lady hadn't shaved in three days ..... shocker

Cheers,

Would love to see some more pictures though.

Arild,

I don't think there was much let up for operating any electronic equipment given the rain!!

Miles said that the tree he was sat in was swaying so much he would not have been able to take a shot even if a deer walked out in front of him.

K

I see Kiri.
A bit challenging then with a swaying tree stand and the crafty little munties that moves around all the time...
Hopefully the "after hunting" on the Estate compensated for the lousy weather Big Grin
