Hi, few days ago, I loaded some .270 Win. cartridges using this powder, but at the range, I noticed quite a lot of powder residues in the bore, even if the load was quite stiff. Did you have the same problem? Thanks.

wildboar, I have recently purchased VV N-560 and tried it in a couple of loads; the .243 Winchester with 85 gr. Nosler Partitions and the 7x57R with 120 gr. Barnes TSX's and 140 gr. Nosler BT's. While the loads haven't been put over the screens yet the accuracy with all three of the final loads was absolutely outstanding. My experience so far has been that VV N-560 uses about .5 gr. above the same amount of VV N-160 as pretty much the maximum in both catridges. I did not notice anything unusual such as exccesive recoil or fouling. Cheers, Number 10

My experience with the 5 series powders (I've used 550 and 560) is that they are noticably dirtier than N150 and N160. Gerry - make sure you wear sunglasses when you touch those loads off at dusk! My experience with 6.5x55 leads me to say that the 120gr TSX load is going to be a nuclear fireball.

I have used N-560 in 300 win mag with great accuracy results with 76gr under 185gr scenar bullet in lapua cases! But its dirtier than the N-100 powders in my expirience! Regards Ben

I use N560 in the .300 H&H Magn.. With the 180grs Nosler Part.. I got the smallest differences in Speed and pressure I ever produced myself, the load got pressure and speed tested at the DEVA. I have 3 rifles in .300H&H, a Sako-Finbear with a 24inch barrel, a very old Remington 721 with a shortened 22inch barrel and a Ruger I with a custom-Lothar Walther-barrel of 26inch. While the use of the Remington and the Sako is forbidden because of the danger of forest-fire ,the long barrel of the Ruger produced a countless muzzle-fire!

wildboar, 1894, Sako & M-F Yes! You guys are spot-on about the muzzle flash with the VV N-560! Turns nightime into day! A Nuclear Fireball in the Blaser Stutzen with the 120 grain Barnes TSX's pretty much sums it up! Like M-F said, I have to carry a fire extingusher with me to meet European safety regs when shooting it! With the .243 Win in a standard length 23.6" Blaser barrel mho noticed the muzzle flash when I shot it in Zürich - even in daylight! As for the 7x57R, well it's a Blaser K95 Stutzen with a 20.2" tube! Yes, Nuclear Fireball - if the muzzle flash doesn't singe the hide then the muzzle blast deafens the game animals. The bullet is only collateral damage! I'll end up using VV N-160 in the 7x57R since there isn't enough accuracy difference between 560 & 160 to warrant coping with the huge muzzle blast/flash! As for the .243 Winchester the accuracy with VV N-560 is so much better than anything else I've tried with the Nosler 85 grainers, simply fantastic, somewhat enlarged one-hole groups. Cheers, Number 10

Gerry, I love the bit about 'the bullet is only collateral damage'! For your 7x57R you must try VVN150 - very accurate indeed with 120gr bullets in my 7x57 (and 139gr bullets too) yielding 3,000fps out of 24". For what it's worth N150 has given me best accuracy in 6.5x55, 6.5x57R and 7x57. Also 100% burnt in most of these barrels so no fireworks.

1894, Thanks for the tip on VV N-150 with the 120 gr. bullets in 7x57. I'll certainly consider although so far have not had a use for it since N-130, N-140 and 160 are covering my needs. The 560 was a one-off but then again can see what N-150 can do to fit into the overall scheme. Personally if I was in the States - I'd run right down to the local store and buy a pound or two. In Germany I'm limited to how much powder I can purchase over a 5 year period and how much I can store at home; so every powder selection purchase is carefully considered. Cheers, Number 10
