Can anyone tell me what these bullets are designed for? I can pick-up some 258gr 9.3 bullets at a very good price. I want to use these in a 9.3x62 on big deer, elk and boar. Are these bullets suitable for that purpose or not?

which is a pretty useless web site. If anyone knows of a better site for RWS in either English or German I'd be more than happy.

I have used them in .375H&H with great sucess on Lion, water buffalo, pigs, various antelope from duiker to Eland and they have worked vary well.

They are a soft point with a two section construction. I don't know as much, but I'd assume the lead in the base is harder and I've never really had them separate. The front section opens up well but is held together by the thick jacket, the rear remaining intact.

I still have a few of these recovered bullets, the one from my lion retained 86% if I remember correctly.

It seems like smlekid might have found the same source as me. At the price they're being sold for, I might just pick some up for paper punching and such.

For this purpose, it's a good idea ! The H-Mantel has a long traditional reputation for accuracy, and for this reason has frequently been used as a favourite sighting-in and grouping ammunition by German rifle manufacturers.

That said, there may always be individual exceptions to the rule. My MAS-36 factor sporter in 8x60 S scatters the expensive RWS 12,1 grams H-Mantel all over the paper, but shoots tight little groups with loose-packed grungy 30-years-old Sellier & Bellot "Magnum" FMJ ammo.
