wild pigs roe deer fallow deer red deer mouflon chamois ibex hare rabbit fox Birds aren't my thing, but the Italians are mad about shooting feathered game, so there are plenty of opportunities for; pheasant, quail, waterbirds, small birds, ery small birds - any variety of squawking feathered birds you would like to shoot. Strangely enough, the African porcupines, which are very common in some parts, especially in Tuscany, are protected.

Boar, fallow, red stag, mouflan, pheasant, ducks and pigeons for sure. I think some ibex and perhaps chamois plus a whole raft of what Americans would think of as song birds. Fox, for sure and given the large numbers of African porcupine, perhaps those.

Chianti, Brunello and those Italian women!!! Dont get me wrong, its all about taste, but I would like to ( and sometimes do ) stalk them! Just to be sure: we are not talking shooting! ( Bagging and enjoying is the motto ) ;-) Hermann

It should be the European Alpine Ibex, but I'm not so sure that it is huntable. Maybe I have some delay in info, but it was super protected except in Friuli NE-Italy, but there are few, very few, permissions. All the European Alpine Ibex descend from Gran Paradiso National Park ibexes. They have been selled or stolen or distributed in many ItalAlpine areas in the past, and now there is a consistent population, but we are at the beginning of the discussion about ibex hunt reopeneing. bye

I confirm, the bouquetin, the European Alpine Ibex, is coming from the Gran Paradiso. The King Vittorio Emmanuele II killed a lot of this game which was toward extinction. Feeling remorse,he decided to create the Gran Paradiso National Park. From this park the Ibex colonized the whole Alps. In France we are harbouring some coming from the Gran Paradiso. The population is really sound and growing. For the instant, the Ibex is fully protected. The population is growing no end but its hard to consider shooting them. I think its the same story all over the Alps. The Ibex is very tame and little afraid of human beings. Any shot would be heartbreaking.
