I'm looking for information from people that use RWS factory ammo. My Double was regulated with RWS 18.5 grain TMR ammo. My experience with this ammo is that it shoots well but the bullet performs poorly. It opens up and fragments on deer size game. I was interested in trying the 18.8 grain EVO or the 19.0 TUG.
Does anyone have any experience with these bullets? I'm looking to find out how they shoot and perform on game.
It seems this ammo is hard to come by here in the states and I have to buy in quantity. Before I do I was looking for some experience.

No good deed goes unpunished.

...I use RWS TUG 19 g in 9,3x62 and it works well on critters from roe cub of 7 kg to brown bears - if you look at my post from some days ago you will see a pic of quartering shot on roebuck and this is as bad as it gets regarding exit wounds (did see only one bigger on jackal shot in Namibia - app 5 cm - 2 inch wide)...sometimes (on bigger criters) you get exits in diameter of the caliber (quite small) thats why some of my friends went to CDP...no experience in 9,3 EVO tho I`ve heard good remarks from the field on EVO in 7 mm...

I have also used the 293grn TUG's in my 9.3x62 on game up to Eland {which are simular in size to Moose} with good results.
The 9.3x74 is also available in RWS factory ammo with the 258grn H-Mantel also good for game up to the size of Elk or Kudu.
For the 9.3x74, my preference would be for any one who makes ammo with 286grn Woodlieghs. Wolfgang Rommy of Germany may do this.

There is no garantee that other types of RWS factory ammo will shoot to the same POI in your double. So you could be dissapointed after buying a large quantity of expensive RWS ammo.
Several of my friends are very pleased with the 286 grains Partition in their 9,3x74 and 9,3x62. I would buy a box of 50 and try some hand loads. Also Sako loads this bullet in their factory ammo. Norma Oryx might be a good choice too.
