Hello All, My wife and i are planning a river cruise between Amsterdam and Budapest for this coming summer. on either the front end or back end of the cruise I want to hunt Roe deer and possibly wild boar. So I have a few questions: 1. When is the best time to hunt Roe deer in Hungary, Romania, Checslovakia? 2. Any suggestions on lodges/outfitters that would have activities for the wife while I'm out hunting. Thanks in advance for the information. Best regards, Longfeather

May through September where legal. Last week of July and first week of August is prime for the rut at least at the latitude you are talking about. Hunting them that late may not lead to as big of trophies, as a lot of the better bucks may have been shot by then. Just depends on how big the revier is and who is managing it. The capes are red all summer, and they make an ok mount, but the winter capes (when theyd on't have antlers) are really nice.

https://www.diana-hunting.com/...a-fixed-price#Prices https://www.diana-hunting.com/...nt-in-hungary#Prices Just some examples of what could be done at not cheap, but closer to European prices than what Cabelas would charge you. For cheaper still google jagdreisen "hunting travel agents". And sort through the German ones.

Hi, I am happy to set something up for you. I operate in most European countries. Hungary is absolutely excellent for roe deer. The best time very much depends on the area but in general May and/or August. Late April/May (depends on country) is opening of the season and low vegetation. Early August is rut, which is great to hunt. Summer months are often difficult to hunt because of vegetation. September is post rut and in thick areas good bucks just disappear after the rut. I can provide references for Dennis, I don't personally know him but several of the hunters and instructors in my German Hunting Class have hunted with him in Macedonia, Spain, Romania and quite a few other places. His prices are pretty unbeatable. Often half of what US based booking agents get from European outftiters if not 10-30% off. I had forgot about him on this list.

Caracal and BWW said it all Spring is good chance on big ones and rut ( end of July early August ) provides some great hunting especially calling bucks in " Until the day breaks and the nights shadows flee away " Big ivory for my pillow and 2.5% of Neanderthal DNA flowing thru my veins. When I'm ready to go, pack a bag of gunpowder up my ass and strike a fire to my pecker, until I squeal like a boar. Longfeather, Are you doing the Viking River cruise? My wife wants to that same cruise and I've been sidestepping it - but I never thought about combining it with a little hunting :-) Interested to see how your plans workout...
