Hi All, I was wandering if anyone had a set of plans for building a larsen trap? I need to build about 3 as buying them seems to be a very expensive option... Alternatively if you know of an internet site that has a plan on it that would be great. Thanks, FB

Here ya' go: http://www.ukfalconry.co.uk/Boxes.htm Shipping seems a bit high in relation to the cheap price for the plans, IMNSHO. jpb

FB, BASC will send you a free set of plans if you give them a call, although I don't remember if they are side entry or top entry BASC also used to sell some decent metal springs for the doors too which tended to last a lot longer than the rubber intertube "springs" you sometimes see... I just looked at the pictures on that falconry site and I confess I have never seen a larsen trap so well made! The ones I have seen around here made by 'Keepers generally have a wooden frame and are covered in chicken wire or similar. They are usually three compartments..one for the decoy bird and two trap compartments with side entry doors to them... Regards, Pete

It was actually a few of the wood and chicken wire type ones I was planning on making. We tend to have a bit of an issue with Brock trying to get his dinner out of the trap rather than catch it himself, so I don't really fancy giving him metal larsen traps to mangle. FB

It`s funny I should see "larsen trap" here on the internet!. The Guy, Christian Larsen, a danish gamewarden invented the trap, had a Oberndorfmauser Sportingrifle which I am the proud owner of now!.Shot my first deer with it too!. I am very good friend with his son, and he taught me how to make the trap, his daddy use to make!.They work very well. DRSS: HQ Scandinavia. Chapters in Sweden & Norway
