Hi all. May be off to Southern Irealnd in the new year and whilst I have nothing booked I am loathe to go anywhere without a rifle. How does one go about applying for the relevant European firearms permit?

Regards

Gareth

your local flo can issue you a European firearms pass with your rifle details entered on, no charge for it, then you need the rules for your destination.

You need a current Irish FAC to enter the country with a firearm. This can be arranged by whoever is arranging some shooting for you.

Thanks both for the responses. Sika98k: I'm currently not committed to a booking and would like to arrange my own paperwork. I take it this is possible?

Don't believe it is. You need an ROI sponsor to get your Irish FAC passed, or at least a landowner to give you permission to shoot on his land, in writing, to allow you to apply yourself.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not out to get you....
