European gunmakers produce some very light quality single shots, which is a niche not served very well here. Can some of you provide some makers names, models, calibers and weights? Seems to be a useful type of rifle that just has not been discovered in the U.S..

If you see Blaser, then nearly always Krieghoff has the same: http://www.krieghoff.de/deutsch/models/mhu.htm#thu01

If you want a cheaper one, the Czech make also a rifle like that. But I couldn't find it on the www. At least here in Germany they offer it.

From Italy there is also one. I have to look for from whom.

Well, there are always Baikal rifles available. Very affordable, and the quality is acceptable. [Wink]

I like the K 95. Its accuracy is incredible for suh a lightweight gun. I have a 30 06 one on order with a .222 Rem barrel.

Thanks,

Prices over here might be a bit distorted due to taxing, but they sell the 7,62x39, .308, .30-06, .222 and .223 models for about 150-200 euros.

I have always had a hankering for a single shot rifle of some sort. But have never managed to find one that I liked and could afford.

Ruger #1's are not that appealing.IMo I like the Dakota Model 10.

What else is out there? Most of the links in this thread don't work by the way!

Jacobs, check date for the first entry, 6 years ago,

that could be the reason why some members no longer exist and that the links are down.

The best single there is you say, a Blaser K77 might just fit that bill.

Thanks for the suggestion. But I'm not overly keen on the K77 style of rifle. I much prefer the Falling Block or Rolling Block type of action.

Don't forget the HEYM Model 44B single-shot.

It's a very nice rifle too.

Again another break open style rifle. I've always been an admirer of the Heym bolt action rifles.
