I am very keen on the Mauser 66 - I have two, one a later model (separate bolt stop) in 243W and 270 and an early model, possibly a special order as it was originally supplied with a 243W and 9.3x64 Brenneke barrel. I have added 30-06AI and 458Win Mag barrels. All the barrels shoot under the inch and the 458Win Mag and one of the 243W barrels better 1/2" at 100yds. My interest is whether there are any recurrent problems with these rifles and any parts that I should try to stock up on while they are still available. Thanks, mike

Mauser doesn't keep a supply of spare parts for the 66. However, their site recommends an appointed German wholesaler for any such need. OTOH, a custom German gunmaker still produces bbls. on order. They're lovely rifles indeed and expertly built and quite accurate too. My son-in-law owns a beautiful example in 7x64. Very nice rifle, Andre. What calibre is it? I take it it is a kyler rifle. Congrats on the son-in-law. I remember you were going to get him a shotgun. It's nice to have someone marry into the family that has your interests. Cheers, Big John
