There is a lot of good boar hunting in the czech republic...
Mainly driven hunts between Nov. and Feb.
You can also hunt roe deer, red deer, fallow deer and moufflon.
There is also pheasant hunting.
Sizes of hunting grounds vary.
Typically several thousand hectars.
Any plans to come to Europe?
Rgds,
Andreas

The Czech Republic is beautiful. Did not get to hunt while I was there but did have a good time. CZ has a very nice gun shop in down town Prague. You should check it out while you are there.

Hi Andy,
No plans yet other than the thought of jumping on a plain and visiting Prague with a few days of Boar hunting.
My brother and his new wife are in Germany tomorrow.
Hope your well, and plans on Africa?
Regards,
Adam

Prague is a very nice city. Lots of history and a lot to see.
I have only hunted Czech once for roe buck. It was a very big area near Pilzen. Lots of pigs in the area, but big boars were very expensive.

Maybe you should add a week boar hunting in belarus!? Wink

Edit:
If you are looking for a big pig, you have to go to an area with a good ratio between big boars/smallish pigs. I think belarus has some good area for this.

Hi Adam,
as Caracal, stated Prague is definitely very nice and worth a visit.
The boar hunting probably really is better in some other countries in eastern Europe.
For driven boar hunts Hungary would be place to go from my point of view.
If you ever decide to go to Prague give me a call!
Plans for Africa - always :-)
But right now I'm thinking more concrete about a moose / bear in Alaska for 13 or 14...
All the best,
Andreas

All of you gents.
I grew up in Czech republic. boar hunting is great, but for size I agree Belarus, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia are better choices.
Mouflon in Czech are some of the best in Europe, some good Roe deer, stags are very average, but some of the sika deer can be exceptional in Doupov mountains ( free range).
I agree that Czech republic is beautiful, but I'm biased of course. Anything you wanna know, just ask me. I still go visit once a year. I usually hunt more for fun there then for trophy.

Yes, I hear there are better places further to the east for big Boar but I will not have time.
At this stage I have about a week in Czech (new years in Prague) and one week in southern France for Chamois.
One big Boar would be great!

Adam,

That is one very nice Australian Porker there, Pal - Waidmannsheil!

You'll be hard pressed to match that here under time pressure.

Send Herbert an e-mail, he's very well conncected in the CZ Republic (CZ by birth), perhaps he can organize something for you?
