Nope! Bidders far keener than I on the lots I bid for.

I won some CIC measuring.

I hope you have secured yourself a bargain. The lots I bid on went for a great deal more than I was willing to pay.

I already have a day in Sept partridge shooting from a differnt auction so I can't complain to much.


Have you got anything waiting for measuring or are you going to have to go out and find something?

There's some Sika hind stalking down here going for £520 for 2 outings with a few hours to go!

What did the sika hind stalking go for in the end?

Jeeez!For that amount I sure hope they get to shoot a lot of sika hinds.

For some, the auction is not necessarily about picking up a bargain.

I have been present at sales of kit and effects (money going to widows & children) in the military - still recall the bidding war that erupted over a disposable Bic razor.

As I recall the winner got it for about £45....

We have all been at auctions where the bravardo, the beer or the need to demonstrate big big your cajones might be, has gotten the better of bidders. I've been at fund raiseing dinners where £1000's have been bid for lots costing a few hundred quid. I've need felt particularly impressed when its happpened. Wogan use to have it happen all the time when he did his Children in Need radio auction.

I'll be sticking with my bargain hunting auction stratergy. Its worked pretty well over the years for me.
