The ugly one with the camo on everything? I'm wanting a .204. The gun I really want is the Kimber Pro Hunter laminate but I don't want to take chances with thier QC.
My next choice would be a Cooper 21 Phoenix but the grip is too open for my small hand. I also presently don't have any reloading gear so like the $600 price tag of the Savage 'cause it will let me buy some equipment to load my own.

I'll shoot this gun 2 - 3x per year tops and like the price point and sub-moa reputation of the Savage.

No but I have savage mod 12 fvss that shoots lights out! I think it cost about 650 new last year.

I'm in th market for one or two...

my other Savages shoot circles around almost any other rifle I have ever own, and that is right out of the box...

I like those camo set ups...

Nomo4me-I have had a pre-accutrigger Model 11 for several years now. It shoots 1/2" MOA all day long. If you want a shooter, get the Savage and go hunting. I have several friends that are using the Model 10 Predator Hunter in both .204 and .223. They all like them.......

I have the predator in a 22-250. I haven't shot it that much becuase it doesn't like the loads I had developed for my other 22-250. (50 gr Nosler BT with Varget, I am only getting 2 inch groups at best)

My cousin also had the same gun, but he is using 55gr BT with varget and it groups under an inch, so I am going to try his load when I get the time.

They tell me that Savage is still using button rifled barrels. Much, Much better than hammer forged. I'll never own another hammer forged barrel as long as i live. I know, somebodies got one that shoots 1/4" groups, but I've never been that lucky.

I am a proud owner of a Savage Model 10 Predator in .204 ruger . I'll be the first to admit that I was
skeptical of Savage before I finally bought one. Long story short, the savage has embarrassed
some of my $3500+ custom guns straight out of the box! It may not be pretty, but I warn you that
this savage model 10 predator can & will make pretty guns look fugly. Another consideration is
the .204 in that model, great combo for deadly flat accuracy! Finally, the scope...buy the savage w/o the scope & put what you really want on it. It is true w/ this product that you will get more than you paid for.

CMJ I went the extra mile with Savage today and ordered a custom built gun that is really going to serve my shooting needs:
I ordered the Precision Carbine (under law enforcement tab on savagearms.com) barreled in a blue finish 22" .204 Ruger, same weight bbl as the Predator.
What I'll get then is a gun the same (desireable) size as the Predator with the accustock and all black metal surfaces so a black Zeiss 6.5 x 20 should look pretty good on it.

My needs for this gun are a few ground squirrel shoots per year and to shoot groups from the range now and then.

The NIB Tikka 595's I bought yesterday are just too large for me and will go on Gunbroker this week.

WOW, sounds like you decided to create the perfect varmint gun! I just wished the model
10 predator was upgradeable to the new accu-stock. I hope you intend to post a range report, I'm interested on how your project turns out.

Savage is quoting "less than 6 weeks" on delivery. I have a bit of a problem with calling these 'custom', they are just pulling parts bin pieces and screwing them together.

If it drives tacks it will be well worth the money spent.

You won't like them...you can't ever hit the dime...groups are too small to see at distance and takes the fun out of follow up runnng shots...I have one in .204...3/8 to 1/2 in at 100 yards out of the box literaly...I also have a model 12 in 204...even worse...3/8 at 200 yards...ya have to walk down range to even see the group...if I wanted to exercise I would take up running...

Got one in 22-250. Definitly minute of pig at 300 yds. 60gr Hornady and 34gr Varget.

Hi,I have the Savage model 12F-Class in 6mmbr, I sent it to the Savage Guy and had it tricked out,Have Rem. target and varmint rifles, but this Savage is scary accurate, working on new load using Berger 90gr bullet. I am a new member this is my first post.

I received my Savage M-10 "Precision Carbine" today, custom ordered from the Savage factory with a 22" .204 Ruger bbl. Basically it's like the Predator Hunter model with accustock and no camo gunk on any of the metal. Trigger is tolerable but the lock time on the Savage action is a bit slower than I'd like to see.

We'll see how it shoots on Friday with hornady 40gr v-max.
I also kept the Tikka 595 Varmint in .223 and it's a sub-moa performer out of the box with 55 gr v-max ammo.
