I am thinking about ordering a new CZ 527 Varmint with the H-S Precision kevlar stock. Looks like a nice light and accurate rifle. Too bad it doesn't appear to come in .22-250 yet. Anyone have experience with one yet? Dog-duster

I,ve had one for 10 months. Great little rifle. It "likes" more loads than any other 223 that I own. Two loads that I worked up for my Savage 110fp, using 69 gr Sierras and 55 gr Noler BTs will stay under 1/2 MOA. Even some old loads using 55 grain bulk Winchester loads stay just over MOA. The single set trigger takes some getting used to but it is very nice. The stock has a large plam swell like my Remington PSS and I am just getting comfortable with it. I've spent so much time with standard Savage and Winchester stocks that I have had a hard time getting used to the plam swell and I can't say that I like it better than a standard stock. CZ makes good guns I own the Varmint with the HS stock, a Lux in 223 for a walk about gun, a standard 22 LR, an American 22 mag and a 75B 9mm pistol with 22 convertion kit. I own seven 223s, counting autoloader, and if I could only have one it would be the CZ varmint. (If I could only have two the Savage would stay) Hope that helps.

Thanks, I just may have to get one of those nice little rifles. I agree about the palm swell. My 700 Sendero SF's H-S Precision is like that too. Wonder if you can tune the triggers. I like the way it broke after being set but before it was it felt like a cinder block over asphalt. Not exactly easy or fun to set the trigger each time you might shoot out on a dog town. Actually setting the triger is not hard at all. I simply push it forward with my shooting hand's thumb. It won't slow you down much.

Dog-duster, I have a 527 varmit with H&S stock. I agree with Dundee. I have shot less than 1/2 groups. Mine seems to like 50 vmax the best so far. The trigger on mine when set is 1/2 a pound. The 527 is the minature action thats why they don't do it in 22-250. I also own a 550 22-250 varmit with the bull barrel and laminated stock set trigger. It shoots very well also. A freind of mine is a CZ dealer so I get the scoop on the different models before I buy. He sold several 527 varmits and all that reported back were very impressed.

Is there an aftermarket trigger/safety for these? Is there any way to convert the safety from forward=safe to forward=fire? What about a 3 position safety. Man, that would be nice. I know it is doable on the 550s
