Hello,
Kimber has a rifle out called the Pro Varmint. I have not seen one in person, but they say the barrel is a 22 inch bull barrel. Looks like a nice rifle. Anyone have one? If so, what diameter is the end of the barrel? Does it really have a "bull barrel" or is it just a beefy sporter barrel? I just didn't want to order one and be disappointed.
Thank you,
Larry

I did not find anything in a Pro Varmint but a 22 long rifle. Below is the link to Kimbers web site if you find one in a .204 post the link I would like to see it also.

Hello Varminteer,

I've seen a Kimber Varmint in 22-250 at a shop near my house. This modle is a heavy sport taper. My Longmaster v/t is the heavy bull. The L.M.V.T's barrel is a flutted 26in. strait 1.050 dia. but only comes in 22-250. Now if Kimber was to make a .204 in the L.M.V.T I would be on the waiting list. The 22-250 modle I own will shot most factory ammo. into .5 in.. One hand load I have will shot five shoots into .272. as long as I do my part.

p.s You can't go wrong with a Kimber.

I found this by going to Kimber's Home page and then look down the left-hand side of the page and you'll find a box labeled "What's New" in that box, you will find "204 Ruger" and if you click on that you'll see the text I copied below:

Quote:

Kimber launches six new walking varmint rifles in .223 Rem. and 204 Ruger.

There has never been a better walking varminter than the elegant Kimber Model 84M. A custom-quality miniature Pre-64 Model 70 repeater, the action is as short and thin as possible, putting the rifle's weight in the barrel for exceptional accuracy.

Every Model 84M is loaded with custom features like match grade barrel, chamber and trigger, pillar bedding, three position wing safety and steel bottom metal with inside-the-bow release.

One of the best varminting cartridges of all time is the .223 Rem., and Kimber chambers it in four models. The SVT and the Pro Varmint feature laminated stocks for stability. The SVT has a 18.5-inch bull barrel and high comb stock, perfect for bipod work at long range. The Pro Varmint has a 22-inch medium sporter barrel that keeps it light and balanced. Both models have stainless steel fluted barrels with 11-degree target crowns. The LongMaster Classic and SuperAmerica are more traditional versions, with select A or AAA claro stocks. The LongMaster Classic has a stainless steel fluted barrel and the SuperAmerica has all metal surfaces finished in high polished blue.

The exciting new 204 Ruger was instantly successful. With an extraordinarily flat trajectory it is ideal for gathering fur without damage. Like the .223 Rem., it is available in Pro Varmint and Varmint (similar to LongMaster Classic).

Shipping has already begun in most models, and the rest will soon follow. See them at any one of over 1,800 Kimber Master De

This is off Kimbers site. The gun shop I buy most of my rifles at has three of em. His price is $949.00. If your interested I'll post the name and number.
I must also say this is one beautiful rifle. The flutes are blackened and to my eye "Way sharp lookin"!!

Kimber says:

Kimber 17 Pro Varmint - The Pro Varmint is ideal for predator calling or working prairie dog towns. The classic stock is shaped from gray laminate and the 20-inch fluted stainless steel barrel is perfectly balanced. Suggested retail price is $1,115.

Larry,
I have one in .223 and like it. It is more of a heavy sporter, however, it balances REAL well imho. A couple of pics...

Regards, Matt.
