I have a 22-250 Ruger light weight rifle with a 19" barrel that I am considering on making into a 22-250 AI . Should I leave the barrel short or go to a longer tube ? And if so
what length of barrel do you guys think would be a good length ? I will be using this for my carry rifle for coyote hunting .

Go longer! Why go to the trouble of a new chambering, dies, fire forming and not make the best use of the cartridge. As to length 24-26 inches sould be alright. I have a 22-250AI on a VZ24 action and for the life of me I can't remember the length of the barrel [Embarrassed]

I have recently completed a custom varmint rifle in 22-250 AI. It has a 24 inch Border stainless barrel in a 1 in 8 twist, it just loves 75 grain A Max - good for 400 yard crows. Andy Mass, England.
