Greetings AR Colleagues,

I just ordered a Savage LRPV in 22-250 and will mount a Zeiss 6.5x20x50 Conquest target scope on it. There are a number of ring and base combinations available, but I was just wondering what the Forum members might recommend for me to consider. The scope is a stainless finish and I would prefer to match it with the bases and rings but that is not a hard prerequisite. I looked at Leupold, Burris and a few others.

What do you like/recommend?

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
I just received my model 12 LRPV Savage in
22-250 w/1 in 12 twist. The stock is the f/tr
laminated. Scope is Leupold 8.5X25X50. I ordered
a one piece picatinny rail from Brownells. The
rings are ARMS rings #22 low. I wish I would
have put the same base and rings on my other 3
savages. Live and learn.

Leupold Bases and Burris Signature rings with 20MOA inserts. Get the inset kit. Can't go wrong with this combo.

I use the Burris Zee Rings and have no trouble with them. They also make mounting very easy.

Kelblys, nothing else is close.
They make a set of blocks that go on the receiver, that look like the old-style you saw on rifles. The rings slide on, and cannot be put on incorrectly.

Another vote for the Burris Signature rings. That's what I have on my LRPV.

I like Control and S&K mounts. They are both great nice, looking, very strong, fairly light and they can fit most any rifle. Also you can do all your windage adjustments with the rings and bases. They are just about the best you can buy and receive the same week you order them. I have a set of 30mm S&K rings with extension bases on my Savage and they really look great. The Control rings are three pieces but the machining is so good they look like one piece rings.
