Get a .223 and handload a reduced load.....
....I do this with the Swift. Why carry a .223, 221, Hornet or .22 Mag. when you can carry any of them in the form of reduced loads?

Savage99, this is excellent advice, I agree completely and do the same type of thing myself. I find it quite convenient to carry different ammo, one rifle. Why pay for trigger jobs, expensive optics, etc, for a rack full of rifles, when you can virtually cover the entire .224 family of cartridges with a single rifle and an inexpensive reloading setup? (Ok, I confess, two rifles - one sporter weight, and one heavy weight barrel). I can make my .220 swift shoot like a .22LR if I want to, but I doubt the converse would work very well!!

The only downside of this technique is that it is NOT easy to find a lot of published information on how to reduce loads. It's taken me a lot of time to dig into it. However, I've found that the powder companies will give you a lot of help by private email that you won't find published in any reloading books. Having internet access to those folks has helped a lot!
