I was able to get out for a day trip yesterday in Southern Wyoming for Prairie dogs. We found a few, not great big towns where you could stop and shoot forever so we kind of road hunted. We would cruise along slow until one of us spotted one close to the road, Then one of the two of us would shoot the close one with a handgun. Then we would get out, glass the area, take a few chosen shots depending on what we wanted to shoot. If I wanted to shoot the Hornet, I'd generally pick something inside 150 yards. If my partner wanted to shoot one with the 6mm 284, or if I wanted to shoot one with the 243 we would pick something out there a ways. Then we would move on and do it again, usually within a couple of hundred yards. My handgun skills have been touched up a little, and the Hornet got a workout. I also confirmed that my newly re-barreled 243 shoots like a house afire. The 6-284 loaded with varmint grenades is spectacular. I've never seen such "air time". The trip made for a long day, we left at 5:30 in the morning, and didn't get home until 10:30 last night.It was good fun, good shooting and with good friends. DW

We have a few P-Dogs in the Red desert. They are too fun to hunt!

I very first time a saw a PD town in person was at Devils Tower. We stopped and they came right up to the car. I guess the terrorist (tourists) fed them.

When I had my kids out p dogging one time they were about 10 and 12. We stopped at devils tower.

The kids kept saying how easy it would be to shoot few. We just had got done shooting thousands of them.

We just laughed at all the city folks talking about them.
