What are you wanting to whack? prairie dogs, or larger?
But of the three I would have to go with the V-max as being the most frangible.

If you want frangible in the .223, then go with the old-style Hornady 50 grain SX.

Roll EyesCan not speak as an expert, but I have been tessting these 34 gr. hp. Varmint Nite Mares From Mid South in a number of rifles for accuracy and velocity. fishing
They are surprisingly accurate for Varmint purposes and at 4000fps out of a .223 they just got to explode on impact. To boot they are probably the best priced bullet on the market today. thumbroger

Not on your list but try the varmint grenade by Barnes.

If you have a 1-12 twist barrel, you can't beat the price or splat of the 50 sx Hdy. If it is a 9 twist go with the V-max. FYI, the sx are quite accurate, often times the most accurate out of my 223.

Swede44mag,

Have you ever shot the VG before?
If so how do they shoot?
Groups?
Killing?

Was gonna reload some but have never talked to anyone that shot them before.

The Varmint Grenades totally explode on a grape! But some report accuracy problems. Frowner

The Sierra Blitz King seems to blow up prairie dogs a bit better than the V Max offerings in my .223.

Both are scary accurate in my Blaser R93 with the heavy fluted match barrel.

Not scientific by any means but I shot a coyote at about 125 yds with a 50gr Nosler ballistic tip from a .223. One shot to the neck left no exit and he was dead immediately.

I have shot them before. If you are shooting 500-600 yards with a 22-250 where the velocity is down they pencil through. I was n't happy with them. If you shoot only to 300 yards then maybe they will work like in the video or maybe I just got a bad batch of them. I wi9ll give them a try in my 22-243 middle stead to see if that velocity will help them out. Oh, the accuracy was very good with them.

I agree with theothers on the TNT's. Everyone I have used or seen used has worked perfectly.

Some of my guns have well developed loads that are extremely accurate. Some I am still working on but oddly enough I have found pretty much everything likes them (a lot) with Blue dot at much reduced loads. Might just be my guns (two .223s and three .243s), but they like them at 1800-2200.

The 1 in 12 twist .223 doesn't like the 50 grain VG at all at full power, they keyhole.

Crows don't like them either.

My 22-250 loves the blitz kings, I have some 55 gr and use them to turn gophers and squirrels to grease stains. Cool Can't comment on any others, but I sure to like the blitz kings!

I have been very happy with the 50 gr TNT and the 40 gr V-Max or BT. I have hit pretty consistently out to about 300 yards on prairie dogs with great effect. Wind can affect the light bullets, though.
