My brother and I went out Wednesday and shot some more ground squirrels. We were using a couple of 223 semi-auto AR style rifles and I brought a Savage 22.250 along with a 22 rf and a 17 HMR.

Here's the view down a valley we were shooting. The dirt road in the upper left of the picture disappears right at 500 yards and I went 2 for 3 on squirrels on the slope to the right of the road at 450 yards with the 22.250

We shot about 160 rounds between the three centerfire guns in about 6 hours and here's a 1.5 minute video highlight reel with slow motion replays:

Fjold, It is this type of shooting that converted me to an AR for varmints. Well done, and thanks for the video spot.

That is cool! I haven't tried to video ground squirrels but have tried it on coyotes. It is fun to replay.
Were you at Jim's? Nate

Fjold: Great posting, pictures and video!
YOU are the man!
A master of many disciplines and technologies!
I can't wait for the Ground Squirrels to come out in force here in SW Montana!
You may go broke keeping the Ground Squirrels in check with centerfire ammunition and replacing those AR barrels!
But theres no better way to go in my opinion!
Nice shooting and great photography!
Hold into the wind

I'm curious about your portable benches. What ones do you use/like best?

Mine is the Do-All brand table that I bought from Cabelas for $90

I would have preferred if it came with two legs up front and one in the back under the seat as I think a tripod is more stable on uneven ground.

I use it because it's lightweight as we usually park on the back side of the hill and carry everything around to shoot. My brother prefers a seperate table and chair set up.
