Took the second daughter out for some shooting today and saw a number of younger squirrels out. The grass is getting tall in spots with other areas stunted so a lot of the shooting was when they were on the mounds, with a few shot in the short grass. The daughters are falling in love with the semi-auto 223 for the lack of recoil. We were out for about 2 hours and took about 2 dozen squirrels. I think I took 3 shots and the daughter took the rest. Her best shots were a great headshot at about 150 yards and a solid body hit at 300 yards.
