I am about to get a Bushnell 4200 in 6-24x40 and I have a choice to make?...FCH DOT or MIL DOT...I think the FCH DOT may be better? what you think? Thanks!

I have both style reticles on my varmint rifles.. and both come in handy at different times...

Jsut as a suggestion, I am looking at the Mueller Eradicator ( www.muelleroptics.com) it has a German Number 4 with an illuminated dot on the cross hair....

From the feed back of a few guys, it is supposed to be quite an effective helper when the varmints are small and waaaay out there...

the scope is only $229.000 From SWPA... and a couple of other sources...

Mueller also has some intersting reticles.... and are supposed to be some solid made scopes...

but fine Cross hairs vs Mil Dot.. both come in handy at different times.. is all I can tell ya...

SK, The Bushnell 4200 is a great peice of glass(IMO) whatever kind of reticle it has. The dots can be a little tricky on a dark hided varmint (also IMO) but that illuminated dot that seafire speaks of may be just all right! I have fine dots in my BR scopes and they are just that..........BR scopes! Not used much in the varmint fields. For that purpose I use the tried and true "D.A.D." method......."Dial And Dust!" And from my experience with the Elite 4200's they are pretty darn good at repeatability when multi "DAD's" happen during a given day of varminting. My FAVORITE scope to do this with is the NIKON MONARCH 6.5-20 and followed closely by a NIKON BUCKMASTER 6-18. Those two have proven their repeatability on many varmint safaris! Good Luck with your new scope! thumbGHD
