Years ago when I was starting married life I owned but one (gulp) cf. rifle, a pre64 270 featherweight. I shot the 90gr. Sierra for calling coyotes and it really takes a dog apart.
I always used the same powder and charge as I still use with a 130gr. bullet, 57grs. of IMR4350.
Didn't have a chronograph back then so havn't a clue what the velocity was. Maybe 3100-3200fps, whatever it was the recoil was alot less, same point of impact, and the featherweight would shoot 3shot 3/4in. groups.

I have done some loads with those bullets, and nothing ever really impressed me. The only thing I found out was that the slower the better, atleast im my case. That was true with three different rifles. A win m70, rem 700, savage 110E.

I have a load in the 90gr hp. I don't know if it will perform at 400 yds. for it is almost a minimum load. I use 51.5grs of IMR4895 in my Ruger MarkII. I am getting .500 inch groups at 100yds and it performs well at 200yds. Good luck...............

I've shot the bullet quite a bit (with H380 and IMR 4350) It's accurate enough, although I've long ago moved to the 130's with R22 for most everything including chucks at long range. The 90 is devastating up close but not at 400. Just what I've found.
