My cousin in a phone conversation mentioned the existence of a Coywolf. I had never known of this before. A mix of Coyote and Wolf.

In watching the video, the animals shown remind me of Red Wolves. Over the years there has been a lot of contention over whether Red Wolves were actually a wolf or were in fact Grey Wolf/Coyote hybrids.

I have worked with both Mexican Grey wolves and Red wolves and jmo, the coywolf in this video is the same animal as the Red Wolf.

From memory, Red wolves and coyotes look very similar and it practically takes an expert to distinguish between the two in free range conditions.
