I have called in and shot close to a 1000 jackal over the years.

The past Saturday night another 8 jackal got hammered.

One of the jackal was this old male...

With almost no teeth left I estimate him to be around 10 years old.

He was still in good condition and made me work hard before I got the shot at 150 yards...

Very nice. The Old Ones are tough customers.

2 years ago, I shot just such an old coyote, one canine was broken, the other 3 were nubs, and he lost his right front paw somwhere along the way. It didn't appear to be a handicap, as he was very well fed.

I wish I could say I out-coyoted him with my skills, but, alas, he was laying low in the sage, waiting for me to walk past. When I sat down to call, he got up and started to trot away and I shot him.
