Here is a local outfit here in my home town.... NOT my cup of tea, but definitely a specialty item that might fire up some of my fellow varmint shooting types here.... A lefthanded AR 15 in a Varmint barrel chambered in 204 Ruger.... http://www.lefthandrifles.com/ar/varmint.html cheers seafire

I'm interested in a left handed 204 upper but what's the logic of a varmint length 24" heavy SS barrel and tactical handguards, etc.? Fjold: Frank, I don't understand one of your inquiries to Seafire/B17G. You inquire about "tactical handguards" - I don't know what a tactical handguard is and I don't care, BUT, you also inquire about (question) the 24" heavy stainless 204 Ruger barrels. Is there something wrong with 24" stainless barrels in 204 Ruger? Or heavy barrels in 204 Ruger? Or semi-autos WITH heavy stainless 24" barrels in 204 Ruger? I guess what I am saying is I don't understand your point (your question?) of Seafire/B17G. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

I'm not picking on you Seafire, the question was more of a rhetorical one. The combination is strange. VG, I like the 24" heavy barrel on the 204 and a 26" might be even better. What I don't like is a tactical handguard with four Picatinny rails on it. I'd like the botoom of the whole handguard to be smooth where it would ride a sand bag better. And why Picatinny rails on the top and sides of the handguard? How many forwarded mounted red dot sights, flashlights, etc. is anyone going to mount on a heavy barreled varmint gun? Fjold: Frank, yes I am with you on the 26" barrel and the 204's. More is better there. Free and easy velocity that extra 2" of barrel. Of all the Rifles I have owned and shot I have never owned AND shot an AR type Rifle. I have bought and sold several but never put one through its paces of my own accord. I tell you this though - the first time I saw an AR type Varminter fire a 1/2" group (5 shots at 100 yards) I nearly soiled myself! I mean I would not have believed that if I had not seen my good friend Irv Benzion do it IN PERSON! I was stunned, my "bolt action world" was turned all upside downside and I was sure it was a FLUKE! It wasn't! I have seen many splendidly accurate "slam bangers" since that day about 20 years ago! I have nothing but admiration for those Rifles and think that the prices paid for them are a pretty good investment of the dollars involved! The bottom line is I am just TO cheap to pay for the ammo I would use up in one - and TO lazy to do all the reloading it would require (to satisfy the craving for "more ammo" that would show up) should I acquire an AR!. Long live the slam bangers! I have three close Varminting friends that are "southpaws" and I will pass along Seafire/B17G's info on these lefty model AR's! Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Those are some beautiful rifles but a little out of my price range. A left handed ar15 from stag is a good piece or if you wanted a match barrel you coul just buy the upper from stag and have a upper built to your specs. As far as the tactical handguard lots of predator hunters use lights and or night vision and that rail is perfect for that as well as free floating the barrel. Zach
