<JBelk>born ready---
I've got an old straight 8x36 AO Leupold with fine tapered cross hairs, in Warren rings on mine and love it.
Have a Tasco 3-9 on mine; use it at 4x at night with the spotlight for foxes; and crank it up to 8x during the day for deliberate varminting shots.
Works for me

p dog shooterI would go with a nice leupold or burris 3x9.

<Ben H>My Ruger 22 K-Hornet wears a Burris "mini" in 4-12 w/AO. I'm normally a hard-core Leupold fan but I really like this scope.

StonecreekMy K-Hornet wears a 3-9 Leupold Compact. Most hornets are compact guns and look and feel better with a proportionately compact scope. I'm partial to Leupolds and would recommend the 3-9, 2-7 or straight 4x in a compact model.
Some owners of the Burris compacts complain of excessively critical eye alignment and eye relief, but I have never owned one and can't say if this is a problem.
I've always been puzzled why more manufacturers don't make a compact line.

Mike-ORI have a Leupold 3x9 compact on my Ruger Hornet and like it. The only thing I would change is to increase the magnification. Sage rats out at 150+ yards are pretty small targets unless they stand up. Unless you're after small ground squirrels a 3x9 should be great for your Hornet.

Intel6I put a Burris compact 3 X 9 on my Anschutz 1433 Manlicher stocked .22 Hornet. I found that most regular scopes looked too big and made it look strange. The compact Burris fits it nicely and looks likes it belongs on it.
[ 07-19-2002, 02:25: Message edited by: Intel6 ]On my CZ 527 Hornet I have a leupold Vari X 11 3-9x50. This rifle is primarily my easy to manouvre ute spotlighting rifle and it does it's job fantastically. The 50mm objective lens I think helps under the spotlight. If I do my part I rarely miss head shots with this combo out to 150-200 yards. The scope is also not large that it does not look out of place. But all suggestions given have been good. However I would stick to Leupold.
